North Dayton Baptist Church History
And He put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
During a visit to the Dayton area, Rev. William Beasley was quick to realize that there were many unchurched southerners living in the area. The Beasley family decided to stay and a mission was soon formed in the summer of 1942. As the mission grew, a council was formed in December 1943 for the purpose of leading to the organization of an independent church. The council recommended the organization of a new church and on January 9, 1944 the Church Covenant and Declaration of Faith were adopted. The name "North Dayton Baptist Church" was officially adopted.
North Dayton Baptist Church has the honor of being the oldest affiliated church with the Southern Baptists north of the Cincinnati-Hamilton area and the fifth or sixth oldest in Ohio.
